今回ご紹介するのはオーナーのJoann と Sam Cohenが22年も前にアイディア出し合い現在マンハッタンで最もユニークな店の一つとなった「Dessert Delivery」です。彼等はこれ以上ないベストな状態の商品を提供するため、各商品別に職人を雇う事にしました。と言う事でパイ作り専門の人、ケーキ作り専門の人と言った感じで自社内にそれぞれの分野でエキスパートが存在するのです。街中に存在する39のベイカリーに足を運び、職人を探し選ぶ事は難しくもあるが刺激的で楽しいとJoannは言います。
休日やおもてなしなどにデコレーション・ケーキやそれに負けないくらいのクッキーが必要な場合はJoannとSamに任せておけばまず問題ないでしょう。個人的に好きなもの挙げるとしたらホワイト・アイシンシングでデコレートされたmini floral bouquet cakeとモネの作品を彷彿させるような花のアイシング付きdevils food chocolate cakeです。一般的に２〜４人にぴったりの大きさです。 |

店一番の売れ筋はstrawberry shortcakeですが、私としては一回全部試して、自分で
好きなものを見つけたほうがいいと思います。店内に設置されているこじんまりとした部屋でコーヒーや紅茶と一緒にできたてのデザートを楽しむことが出来ます。このアットホーム的でチャーミングなお店に実はすごい面々が顧客となっております。- Paul McCartney, Placido Domingo, Mick Jagger, Bette Midler 、 The Donald (Donald Trump) ポールが好んで買っているデザート、知りたくありませんか？ここにくればチャンスはあります。

Do you honestly believe someone who claims they don’t like pastries or dessert shops? Here is one dessert shop everyone should visit.
Dessert Delivery is one of the most unique shops in Manhattan. The owners, Joann and Sam Cohen, came up with a brilliant idea twenty-two years ago. In order to offer the very best baked goods, they decided to hire individual bakers to produce their specialty. One might be a pie expert and another a cake professional. They buy baked goods from 39 specialists throughout the city, and Joann admits that originally choosing the best bakers was deliciously challenging.
One can always count on Joann and Sam to have beautifully decorated petit fours for every holiday and equally elegant cookies. My personal favorite is their mini floral bouquet cake with white icing, devils food chocolate cake and icing flowers that resemble a Monet painting. Uniquely, this cake is perfect for two to four people. |

The strawberry shortcake is their best seller but in all fairness, one should sample everything. A small cozy sitting room attached to the shop allows you to have a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy your dessert immediately. This charming shop, with all its warmth and personal attention, has a strong customer loyalty. On a lucky day, you might spy one of their following customers - Paul McCartney, Placido Domingo, Mick Jagger, Bette Midler or even The Donald (Donald Trump) buying their favorite dessert. I wonder what Paul McCartney orders…..don’t you?
