9/8〜9/15の期間、ニューヨークでは毎年恒例の『ファッションウイーク』がおこなわれました。
今回のショーでは、各デザイナーの2005年春シーズンの新作が発表されました。 |

今シーズンの傾向は、昨年流行した大胆な原色一辺倒の色使いからの脱却です。明るい色と無彩色など抑え目の色を組み合わせることで、春らしい雰囲気を盛り上げています。
今回私たちは、日曜の午後にブライアント・パーク・ テントで行われた「Wenlan Chia’s Twinkle show」に行ってきました。当日はとてもよいお天気で、彼女の遊び心あふれるデザインを鑑賞するのに絶好の日になりました。

体のラインを美しく見せるスカートと手編みのニットを組み合わせることで、遊び心あふれる若々しいスタイルとシャネルのようなクラシカルなスタイルをうまくミックスさせています。

“Romantic Rainy Afternoon”という今回の彼女のテーマは、ソフトグレー、シャンペン、ココアなどの淡い色使いに見ることができます。
それらの色は、雨上がりの色鮮やかな風景を表現しています。

今回のトィンクルのコレクションはストレッチコットンやシルクシフォンの素材を組み合わせることで、モダンで未来的なイメージを作り出しています。また、それらの素材は幻想的で神秘的な雰囲気も表現しています

彼女の特徴である象眼模様の柄は、彼女のハンドペインティングをもとにデザインされたもので、彼女の｢Spring Rain｣というテーマを端的に表現しています。
今回彼女は、優しく、可愛らしく、それでいてセクシーな雰囲気のワンピースにぴったりの幻想的なプリントをセレクトしています。

今シーズン、ウェランは限定のジュエリーコレクションも発表しました。
ジュエリーのデザインは、彼女の特徴である象眼模様にもぴったりマッチするものになっています。
今回発表されたのはブロンズや角、骨をモチーフにしたチェーンとカラープラスチックを組み合わせたペンダントやオレンジ色の樹脂でできたイチョウの葉や銅製のバラ、光沢のあるチャームをあしらったネックレスなどです。
今後、トゥインクル・ジュエリー・コレクションからはブレスレットやベルトそしてブローチも発表される予定です。

Spring ’05 Fashions Revealed in New York
New York once again hosted Fashion Week for designers to showcase their Spring 2005 creations from September 8-15. This spring season we will see a general departure from the rainbow of bold colors we saw last spring. This spring’s muted shades are punctuated with bright colors to elevate the mood of the season.
We visit Wenlan Chia’s Twinkle show in the Bryant Park tents on a sunny Sunday afternoon- perfect weather to appreciate the playful spirit of her line. She pairs youthful exuberance with classic styles of designers such as Chanel with her form fitting skirts and hand knits. Wenlan’s inspiration of a romantic rainy afternoon is seen in her use of soft grays, champagne and cocoa with bright prints expressing the promise of the bounty of color that follows the rain.
Twinkle Spring ’05 features a modern, futuristic structure complemented by stretch cotton and silk chiffon that depict this fantasy and mystery themed line. Her graphic intarsia designs are based on her paintings and directly reference her spring rain theme. She has chosen intricate, dreamy prints for her flowing, feminine yet sexy dresses.
This season, Wenlan debuted a limited edition jewelry line complementing her signature intarsia prints with bronze, horn and bone chains and colored plastic pendants. A metal chain carries orange Lucite gingko leaves, bronze roses and polished bone charms. The Twinkle jewelry collection will expand to bracelets belts and brooches.
